The archive of the Verein Berliner Künstler

During its long existence the association created a remarkable archive, containing the artwork of its members as well as bestowals from other artists. Over 3000 artworks, drawings on paper but also paintings and plastics are systematically captured on data media, for the purpose of providing the interested public with online presentations. An extensive collection of photo documents, papers, autographs and printed and promotional articles are attended by the Akademie der Künste Berlin.

The archive material verifies the regional and national significance of the Verein Berliner Künstler, its importance in the art and cultural history of Berlin.

The work archive is located on Schöneberger Ufer 57 and contains paintings, graphics and sculptures from 165 years of VBK-history. Infromation on the inventory can be offered by our archivists Peter Hillbricht and Susanne Knaack under the number 030/2612399.
